Daniel Grant has over 25 years professional experience at a senior position in the business to business service industry.

Since 2010, at Change ACT, he has developed specialisation in business process improvement, using Lean Six Sigma methodology.

As an auditor and trainer, Daniel has performed more than 160 training and consulting sessions in various sectors, 300 audits and reviewed dozens of management systems and advised.

He is also a Green Belt level in Lean Six Sigma.

He has lead training session and has offered his consulting services to many countries of the Indian Ocean region as well as African countries among which Madagascar, Reunion island, Tanzania.

Area of expertise
Daniel has acquired training experience in several manufacturing and service industry sector over the years, namely: hospitality, tourism, health care, food and beverage manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, warehousing and distribution, business process outsourcing, education, to name a few.

His knowledge transmission was enhanced through the training seminars he participated in, by mentors and accelerated adult learning techniques.

The training areas covered by Daniel are strategy, management systems, business process improvement methodology, Lean Six Sigma, corporate culture, food safety systems and customer service.

Engaging and Developing People
Daniel has been involved in management systems and improvement projects whereby on the job coaching was provided to the project team to develop their time management skills, conducting meeting skills, teamwork and leadership skills.

Through conducting risk-based auditing, 2nd and 3rd party assessment services,certification programs and training services, Daniel has covered a wide range of management disciplines including:

  • Food Safety – GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000,
  • Quality Management Systems – ISO 9001
  • Business improvement with the use of Lean Six Sigma
  • Training services – Public and in-house courses on understanding, implementing and auditing standards in food safety and quality and business improvement with Lean Six Sigma.

Those projects have contributed in empowering the team and involving them closely in the change management process.

Learning techniques & qualifications

  • Master in Business Administration with the WITS Business School
  • Post Graduate Degree (DESS) in Food Quality Control with the University of Grenoble
  • Master’s Degree in Biochemistry with the University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse

He holds the following registrations: MQA Approved Trainer, Member of the MIOD, EDES (EU) approved trainer, Green Belt Lean Six Sigma.

Professional experience
During his 17 years of working experience, Daniel has held senior management position in an international certification organisation before starting his own consultancy and training organisation.

He has developed the certification and training activity of SGS Mauritius at the growth rate of 20% per year. He was in charge of its strategy, strategy execution, sales and operations.

He managed a team of degree holders involved in training and auditing of management systems.

Daniel has also been in charge of Sales & Marketing as well as the operations of a food and environmental laboratory.

He has performed audits and training in numerous organisations in various standards and management system.

He has also been in charge of development of medical tourism standard and tourism standard with both the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority and the AHRIM (Hotel & Restaurant Association of Mauritius).

Since he operates Change ACT, he has advised and trained organisations in different areas ranging from improving the overall quality management of the business, the safety of food as well as savings in reviewing processes to improvement of capacity in production and workspace organisations.

He has also been involved in the facilitation of development in projects that required coaching and training.

Language skills
Daniel has been delivering training in French, English and Mauritian Creole as per customer requirements.

Personal information
Daniel enjoys travelling, social gatherings, music, and sports in general. He is also very involved in social work through his implication in the Mauritius Round Table association.
